With reference to our letter No. A/474 B

of the 19th. September, regarding securities deposited

with us on account of the note issue of the Hong Kong

and Shanghai Banking Corporation in Hong Kong and

Straits Settlements, I have the honour to report, for

the information of the Secretary of State, that

£157,850 4% National War Bonds (April) 1928 which

form part of the security deposited by the bank, have been converted into £157,850 4% War Loan Bonds 1929/42.
